About Climax Control Condoms

"It's a tantra master wrapped in foil, the antidote to impatient passion. Two lines of "climax control" condoms that contain a mild anethetic, Benzocaine, promise men the sort of self-restraint that once required tantric meditation or at least a distracting thought or two during sex.

Durex Sex Survey
Who is Doing It and How Often: Although we don't recommend comparing your sex life to what others consider to be normal, it can be interesting to see how often other couples have intercourse.
HPV Information
Genital HPV infection is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Human papillomavirus is the name of a group of viruses that includes more than 100 different strains or types. More than 30 of these viruses are sexually transmitted, and they can infect the genital area of men and women including the skin of the penis, vulva (area outside the vagina), or anus, and the linings of the vagina, cervix, or rectum. Most people who become infected with HPV will not have any symptoms and will clear the infection on their own.
Center of Disease Control Male Latex Condom Fact Sheet
In June 2000, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), convened a workshop to evaluate the published evidence establishing the effectiveness of latex male condoms in preventing STDs, including HIV. A summary report from that workshop was completed in July 2001 (http://www.niaid.nih.gov/ dmid/stds/condomreport.pdf). This fact sheet is based on the NIH workshop report and additional studies that were not reviewed in that report or were published subsequent to the workshop (see link for additional references). Most epidemiologic studies comparing rates of STD transmission between condom users and non-users focus on penile-vaginal intercourse.
Condoms: Barriers to Bad News
What do condoms have in common with toothpaste and toilet paper?

Not enough, according to Adam Glickman, owner of the Condomania stores in New York and Los Angeles. Glickman, who has sold condoms by the millions to individuals and organizations such as the Peace Corps and Planned Parenthood, says condoms should be viewed as ordinary, like toothpaste and toilet paper. "People have gotten past asking, 'Isn't brushing my teeth every morning a hassle?' Given the world we live in, wearing condoms is something you just have to do, like brushing your teeth. The stakes are too high."

How To Use A Condom

How to use a Condom. Step by step instructions on how to put a condom on and take one off.

IMPORTANT

If used properly, latex condoms will help to reduce the risk of transmission of HIV infection (AIDS) and many other sexually transmitted diseases, including Chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B and syphilis.

Use a NEW condoms every time you have sex - BEFORE FOREPLAY, BEFORE PENIS GETS ANYWHERE NEAR ANY BODY OPENING ( To avoid exposure to any body fluid that can carry infection). Handle condom gently.

Step 1 Step 1

Put the condom on when the penis is erect, before there is any contact between the penis and your partner's body.

Fluid released from the penis during the early stages of an erection can contain sperm and organisms that can cause STI's.

Step 2 Step 2

Tear along one side of the foil, being sure not to rip the condom inside.

Carefully remove the condom.

Step 3 Step 3

Air trapped inside a condom could cause it to break. To avoid this, squeeze the closed end of the condom between your forefinger and thumb and place the condom over the erect penis.

Be sure that the roll is on the outside.

While still squeezing the closed end, use your other hand to unroll the condom gently down the full length of the penis. Make sure the condom stays in place during sex; if it rolls up, roll it back into place immediately.

If the condom comes off, withdraw the penis and put on a new condom before intercourse continues.

Step 4 Step 4

Soon after climaxing, while still erect, hold the condom in place at the base of the penis and withdraw. Wrap it in a tissue and put it in a trash bin.

WARNINGS

Caution: Some condoms contain natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions. If you are using a spermicidally lubricated product, it contains the spermicide Nonoxynol-9. Some users are sensitive or allergic to spermicide or lubricants. If you or your partner have had any reaction to latex rubber, spermicide or lubricants, do not use those products. If either partner has a reaction to a specific product discontinue use immediately.

  • Never let a latex condom come in contact with Oil, Baby Oil, Lotions, Hand Cream, Vaseline, mineral oil, vegetable oil, petroleum jelly or any other oil based product. These products will Damage latex condoms and may cause them to break, rip or tear. Only use Waterbased Lubes such as AstroGlide, ID Glide, Slippery Stuff, or Waterbased Wet lubricant.
  • If using condoms while your partner is using Vaginal products for medical treatment, the condoms may become weakened and their effectiveness may be reduced.
  • Wash hands, penis and vagina before and after sex. This will help cut the possible spread of infection.
  • Keep unused condoms in a cool dry place away from direct heat and sunlight.
  • NEVER STORE A CONDOM IN YOUR WALLET!

How to Talk to Your Kids About Sex » -

Studies show that kids who feel they can talk with their parents about sex - because their moms and dads speak openly and listen carefully to them -- are less likely to engage in high-risk behavior as teens than kids who do not feel they can talk with their parents about the subject. So explore your feelings about sex. If you are very uncomfortable with the subject, read some books (see Readings for Parents) and discuss your feelings with a trusted friend, relative, physician, or clergy member. The more you examine the subject, the more confident you'll feel discussing it.
