Condom Review: Trojan Magnum Ecstasy

Condom Review: Trojan Magnum Ecstasy

3 minute read

I already reviewed the Trojan Magnum Ecstasy for its inclusion in the Trojan Gold Pack, but this week, I thought I’d take a closer look at this wonderful example of a larger condom.

Looking at our Trojan Lingo handbook, we can see that a Trojan Magnum Ecstasy means that this condom will have a larger, tapered girth, be made of latex, and have a bulbed head. However, the taper on this condom isn’t really there, no doubt due to the bulbed head. It looks almost just like a regular Trojan Her Pleasure Ecstasy.

Wait a minute.

Now, I’ve learned countless times to trust Kara’s measurements from our Condom Size Chart before trusting Trojan’s labeling. But I knew I had to double check this one for the sake of science. Could they really, truly be the exact same condom?

Spoiler alert: they are. Same bulbed head, same fit, same slight latexy scent, same pretty-thin-for-not-being-advertised-as-such thickness, same size, same ribs, and no reservoir tip (remember, you still have to pinch it!).

But no-- the measurements are correct. These condoms are pretty much identical.

There was only a tiny difference I noticed: the regular Trojan Her Pleasure Ecstasy seemed like they came with just a smidge more water-based lube. I don’t have exact measurements for how much lube came with each. It just felt like there was a little more.

The prices are even the same, with the exception that we sell the Trojan Magnum Ecstasy in boxes of three, whereas the Trojan Her Pleasure Ecstasy come in boxes of ten and up.

Now, Trojan doubling up on their product count by making two separate labels for the same condom doesn’t make either of these bad condoms. I reviewed the Her Pleasure Ecstasy about a year ago and loved it.

And as someone who works in marketing, it makes sense, doesn’t it? The word, “Magnum,” is a powerful word when it comes to condoms. The Her Pleasure Ecstasy might come off as a smaller condom without it-- and those of a heftier girth might be like, “Oh, that’s not going to fit me at all!” Especially with the whole issue of the Her Pleasure label-- which, don't get me started on that.

But then there may be folks who want the bulbed head of the Her Pleasure Ecstasy (those with uncircumcised penises especially) but are intimidated by the Magnum label. Never fear! There's a condom for you too, my friend.

If you want to hear what I wrote about the Her Pleasure Ecstasy, please take a look at my review. It’s identical to what I would have written here.

Overall Rating: 4 Stars

Final Verdict:

I liked the Trojan Her Pleasure Ecstasy. I liked the Trojan Magnum Ecstasy. The two condoms may be a part of a marketing scheme by Trojan, but that doesn't make the Trojan Magnum Ecstasy a bad condom. It has a ton of room, especially towards the head, which makes it a top-notch choice for users who aren't circumcised.
