Our staff of Safer Sexologists put the Lifestlyles Black Label Condom to the test! Here is where the Lifestlyles Black Label Condom ranks!
The name Black Label brings to mind fancy liquor and a night out an some exclusive club. Not only is the label of this condom black, but the condom itself is also a nice midnight color. Plain latex can sometimes look so, well, icky, and kind of medical, so I’m always down to try out a condom that’s a fun color.
Lifestyles Black Label has a bulbed head, which I am a big fan of. If you’re wearing it, it gives you a lot of wiggle room, especially if you feel that normal condoms are too constricting or uncomfortable. And while using this one in particular, my partner felt like it increased his sensitivity quite a bit, especially at the tip of the condom.
The lube makes the inside of the condom feel super smooth when it’s going on, and it’s not too tacky or sticky on the outside either. The only problem was that it didn’t last very long. Once I wrestled it on to my partner, it was already pretty dry in some spots! We paired it with a silicone lubricant-- WET Ecstasy Silicone-- just to make sure it stayed slick.
It does, however, seem like the black label club is somewhat exclusive-- my partner thought that the ring was painfully tight, and it didn’t stretch very well. Our condom size chart lists this condom as having a base diameter (nominal width) of 2”, so if you’re even a little bit bigger than that, don’t count on it stretching to accomodate. Just go with something a little wider, like the Trojan Magnum or Caution Wear’s Grande.
While the Lifestyles Black Label's dark color, bulbed head, and soft, inner lube were a pleasure to use, it’s constrictive ring was a little uncomfortable and might be best saved for dudes under 2” in girth.
