Durex Performax Condom - Review

Our staff of Safer Sexologists put the Durex Performax Condom to the test! Here is where the Durex Performax Condom ranks!

Durex Performax Condom

The Durex Performax Intense boasts a bunch of really neat features including a heat activated climax control lubricant, ribs, studs, a flared head, a reservoir tip and an easy-on shape. Pair these awesome traits with a pleasant smell and we’ve got a winner. Obviously, this condom has a whole lot to offer!

The Performax Intense is a sizable condom which measures in at 7.75 inches long by 2.25 inches wide at the head and it is 2 inches wide at the base. I really like how its shape is so conducive to a quick sliding on motion. It was less like putting on stockings on a hot day and more like putting on a sock in the wintertime. Easy peasy.

My experience with the Performax Intense was far superior to Trojan Extended Pleasure condoms, because both sides of Trojan condoms are coated, which creates a numb vagina, anus, or mouth. What I love about Durex is that they only put the climax control lubricant on the inside of the condom. This specialized lubricant is made from 5% benzocaine. It is designed to keep him going longer by instilling a slight numbing sensation to the penis and not into his partner's orifice. Just make sure you unroll it the right way.
Upon unwrapping it, I did notice that this lube for him was all packed into the reservoir tip, so be sure to pinch that tip while putting it on. This also helps air from becoming trapped in the tip, so it's a good idea to get in that habit anyways.

Unfortunately, the lube for her on the outside of the condom is less than ideal, as it is somewhat grainy, gritty and short lived. However, this can easily be remedied with additional lube, like Wet Platinum.

The ribs and studs, which are designed to speed her up are less pronounced than I was expecting. They are definitely there, but don't expect any major and overwhelming texture sensations. I actually tend to prefer smooth textures, so this was a plus for me, but if I was a big fan of nubs and ridges I’d be pretty darn disappointed by the somewhat understated and subdued surface of the condom.

Durex Performax Condom - Final Verdict

It feels, looks and smells great, but tastes bad and has very low quality lube. This seriously textured condom is great for an above average sized guy who isn’t afraid to add additional lube into the mix.
